: Whats a sport i can start at the age of 16 and become pro?
I want to take up a new sport that I can become a professional at. But if that’s not possible whats a sport that i can become decent at enough to help me get into a university in the states? I used to be a pretty fast swimmer and it took it up when i was pretty young….but i really hate it now so yeah.

Pretty much any sport. I’m 15 and I just quit gymnastics which I did for nine years, and now I’ve started mountain bike riding. It’s really fun and can be pretty challenging as to be a good rider you need to master all these different techniques. I’ve had one stack so far but it wasn’t to bad, just got a bit of a graze; it’s also pretty interesting because sometimes you see animals, like birds, wallabies, lizards, and I’ve even seen rabbits and ecidnas. You should try it, and it’s easy to start at any age.
Also some other sports you could try:

Surfing- if you’re close to the beach. My dad started surfing at around 16… I think I might give it a go sometime when the weather warms up. (Winter in Australia) =[

Martial Arts- 16 is a great age to start this. Some places wont even let you in until you’re that age. My dad started it when he was in his eary 30s, and he said he wished he started much earlier.

Rock climbing/bouldering- you can start this at any age, the earlier the better. I know a girl who started about two years ago, she’s like 23 and she loves it. She’s also really buff because of it, haha.

Well they’re my suggestions (just going off mine and people I know’s experience). There are many other sports you could try at 16… you’re heaps young bro! You can start basically anything and become pro at it. Just try something you’re interested in. Good Luck =]

Do a sport you enjoy, forget about going pro, focus on learning the sport and giving a 110 percent everyday. You are at the age to find what you are best at. Then when you go to college you can play those sports. Just to let you know only 1 or 2 players per state is looked at for pro. If you do baseball you can always try out for minor teams at the age of 18.
