ci’: What song should I sing for auditions?
Okay, so the play is High School Musical, but first you have to go through auditions before callbacks. For auditions, you can’t sing anything from the actual play, so I need a song to sing that’s relative to it, like a song from a Disney person, er whatever. Any suggestions? Oh, by the way, I can’t sing anything extremely low, so something a female sings. 🙂
And I need a monologue and a dance, too. Haha. Please help!

Any song that Queen has ever done would be good. That or a Styx song like, “Lady,” or “Come Sail Away.” those are all high.
First of all when ever Anyone auditions it is important to remember that what you sing is far less important the how well you sing it. Learn the tune carefully, be sure to have the words memorized, find out if you need to provide music for an accompanist.
You should consider which role you are auditioning for, are her songs bright and bouncy or slow and mournful? Pick a song that has the same mood and tempo. Try to find one from another Broadway show.
As for the monologue, much the same applies, make sure you have it down cold, don’t stumble or mumble. If you miss a line, don’t back up!!
Answer by rdf_2001Something from Thoroughly Modern Millie would be good; Gimme Gimme or some such.
Something from one of the Disney-movie-gone-broadway plays might be good too, like “Home” from Beauty and the Beast.
