What should the wife and I wear to a Performing Arts show?

Rattlehead: What should the wife and I wear to a Performing Arts show?
This isn’t really my thing, but I wanted to surprise my wife and spent alot of money on tickets to a Performing Arts show. My question is what do we wear to this this thing? Should I bust out my suit and Tie or can I get away with less?

me & my family just went to something like that a few weeks ago..everyone dressed nice but not overly nice..def not jeans..but i dont think you have to get all suited up for this..just a nice pair of pants & a nice shirt..tell the wife she should just wear a nice dress (not long but not super short either) or a pair of dress pants w/a nice top…just think classy….enjoy.

performing arts is after all an art, art is relaxed and always changing so wear whatever feels comfortable. if thats jeans and a suit jacket then so be it

Whenever I go for a rock show…i usually wear jeans and all that stuff(including caps,lockets,etc)..if the show is classical…traditional dress works for me and if i’m going to attend a ”family show” or when i am at the performing arts show..i usually wear suit and a tie…i keep on changing the colour-patterns of the tie for a change…
