fastwheelchair: What pet can i get except from a hamster that is small?
I am in the UK and trying to find a pet i can have. My mum is alergic to cats and doesnt want a dog. I suggested a terrapin but she said no. Any ideas?

Rats
rats are more intelligent than people give them credit for and much more intresting than your average hamster,gerbil,guinea pig,rabbit or mouse. They sit on your shoulder and dont fall off unlike hamsters.

Depends. Do you like birds? A parakeet is easy to take care of and are very friendly birds. Just don’t get two if you want it to bond with you. You could get a gerbil. They get lonely easily, so get two. Reptiles are not good first pets and most lizards grow really big and end up eating mice and rats and your mom will probably not like that. Mice are ok but they reproduce fast so only get females.

Why not get her a bird. My Parrot is very good company (but extremely messy)
I bought my mum a hand reared cockatiel for xmas she loves it.

Or maybe a guinea pig – theyre really loving, or a rabbit?

i vote 4 the gueni pig….. they r smart and most like dogs … u can put leashes on and take them for walks … if u live somewhere clean…. and if u dont like gueni pigs get a bunny … almost the same…..
