mouth: What music genre do you predict will take the stage next?
You know how rap and hip hop (or an influence of these genres) is predominant on the billboard charts? Well what type of music do you think will take over next?
Do you think a new genre will be invented? Or just another style of music will become popular?
Do you think you can see leanings toward this genre starting already?

Techno its already starting
Yeah, I would think it’ll be techno/dubstep kind of things. At least some variation of electronic music.
Hopefully it will direct people’s attention somewhere else, and maybe keep them from thinking that hip-hop isn’t completely based on billboard hits…
Answer by AE MetalheadIts not really like that nowadays… sure theres “new” music but everyone has their own opinion. like I guess u could say rap has the floor now but i hate rap and id never listen to it.. i join millions of other metal heads who agree with me… who would also NEVER listen to that hiphop techno shitAnswer by Carlos C
Rap and hip hop, in my opinion, are for the most part repetitive and uninventive, so the “artists” themselves will burn out on their own eventually. I predict rock will get another boom in popularity again, because it’s just that good.
But that’s me, and I’m biased because I’ve always been a rocker.

I see a Rap + Country collaboration happening.Answer by Jon
I don’t think it’ll be techno, that’s more of just a interpretation of futuristic music.I think in the future, we will have everything we have now,but it will be more diverse and have better production. New instruments could be incorporated and the music will change with changes in culture and society. It’s impossible to tell though, but I don’t think it will be something that doesn’t have any musical value. If anything, people will get over digital sounding music, once it becomes dated, and doesn’t seem so futuristic or hip anymore.Answer by Rejoice, rejoice

Techno has seen a pretty big boon recently, as well as Post-hardcore(and all the respective genres in the same grouping). Though I do predict that both will remain sup mainstream, and “pop/rap” will remain about for a while next. here’s hoping for another 90’s rock takeover, thoughAnswer by тнe вαттle oғ everмore [jαyɴe]
It will probably be techno, but I’m hoping it might be some form of glam metal. Adam Lambert and Lady GaGa while pop have brought back a lot of the glam fashion and maybe a rock band will decide to sway in that direction. Well, here’s hoping, I want rock to be big again!Answer by Tommy Boy
It’s going to be the indie/electronic sound. Arcade Fire helped make a claim by winning best album, Phoenix has been all over television and radio as of late, and bands like Vampire Weekend are becoming much more mainstream.Answer by The Criminal
I think this EMO thing is starting to take off but I’m still a huge rap fan…
