HAPPYMANFROMRAMADAN: What minor should i take with a bachelor of computing?
Hi, im actually going to University next year. Im just wondering if anyone can help me choose a minor for bachelor of computing…i need help choosing. I want one that would help me out with getting a job in the business world as a computer programmer. I was thinking of minoring in math. Any help is appreciated.

It won’t make much difference really but business administration would be fine. Even better would be to get into one of those nifty programs that combine it with an MBA. But the better programs require job experience so I wouldn’t suggest it initially. A combined bachelorsmasters in computing would probably be better to start off with.

If you did take a combined MBA/Computing program, that would be superb. However, I doubt that a minor in B.A. would get you up the leadership ladder as fast as practical experience. Math would be a good choice as would Finance if you’re computing financial information for a company.
Consider what you’re going to be computing in your career and see what minor would go well from there.
Also take into consideration what type of company you might be working for. Like a communications company might like a Telecommunications minor.
Although a minor in a foreign language is also something to think about in today’s global economy too.
