I see marriage as a temporary love affair which later children come in. I see marriage as my need to be vigilant about staying employed and educated to when divorce comes I can raise my children without the husbands assistance.

Marriage to me means loyalty, devotion, and perseverence.
Loyalty: You have to be able to trust the person you are with.
Devotion: You have to be fully aware and dedicate your whole life to that one person no matter what.
Perseverence: To ride out the bad times with that one person no matter how hard it gets.
There are about a 1000 different words I can use, but these are 3 near the top of my list. It’s not just about love. Love is a choice and highly needed in a marriage, but you can love someone and not be married. Those things are 100% needed for a marriage to work.
And I’m sure everyone can agree on what’s needed in a marriage whether they were in a good marriage or not.

I had a prior marriage with husband number one and never should have been. Long story, but the guy I chose was like my father, who verbally abused me and didn’t know how to love. God freed me from that marriage and taught me to value myself appropriately, which was preparation for the marriage I currently am blessed with. I married my best friend, the one with whom I share life and ministry. We truly enjoy being together and appreciate who we are physically (ahem!) and spiritually.
I had to learn how not to have a marriage before I could value the real thing.

Honestly? means nothing to me now. I have sadly accepted that it’s not meant to be for me.. Too many betrayals too many bad luck incidents have killed that hope for me.
Have a good day & good week.
Answer by Sharon S – #1 Grassy FanTotal commitment to another person. To be by their side no matter what. To hold them up when they are down and to support them with all the love that you can.
To be loyal and trustworthy and to receive it back from them as well.
It is something that takes work, and must have the attitude to succeed despite the obstacles that might try to make it not.
To make that person be the number one thing in your life and you receive it back from them as well.
You learn from past experiences what works and what doesn’t work. You have to have the attitude it will and keep it growing.
