Stainless Steel Rat: What kind of government do you have when the corporations run the government?
I’m not talking about government owned corporation, but the opposite. There must be a word for it.
Do you think the corporations are destroying our form of government?
<> Really? I don’t remember telling them they could control the government.

<> Ours fits that definition.
I also believe that the corporations control the media. By that I mean both the liberal and the conservative media.

I believe that comes pretty close to fascism.

Answer by The First Dragon
I haven’t heard of a system were corporations run the government.
Corporations are actually owned and controlled by people. And there are situations in which the owners of the big businesses control the government. It usually called Oligarchy, the rule by the few, because a small class of people collectively controls the government.
If illegal drugs are a big item in the economy, the government also takes on mafia-style qualities.

Answer by Yahoo Will Never Silence Me
The American people PASSIVELY allow it.

“Another word for Fascism is Corporatism.” — Mussolini

Answer by Intelligent Political Movement
Like a private business running a public government or a public government running private businesses. I dont believe the former has ever happened outside of mere influence but the latter has happened and has been called everything from state capitalism, socialism, to fascism.

Corporatism means collective economy. The government, workers, unions, businesses are virtually one, normally controlled by a government leader like Mussolini and FDR created.

Answer by Tom Florentine
It can be a variant of fascism, corporatocracy, or plutocracy. Corporatocracy would be the best definition, but generally corporations don’t directly, explicitly run the government.
