♥ Nichole[never gives up]♥: What is up with people and thinking teens should wear makeup?
I’m 16 and I totally disagree with teens wearing makeup. Most people say to start letting them wear it in the 6th grade! Not only does it hide the true beauty, but makeup makes you look uglier after years of wearing it. Anyone agree with me?

i wear makeup and i am 13, but id otn wear a lot, and i think it looks tacky when girls wear tons of makeup, and it does hide their natural beauty.
Thank god someone understands…
Star for you.
Answer by *Starburst*teenage years are rough. those who have blemishes, oily skin, dry skin, or whatever puberty gives them, make up will help their self confidence.
just a little podwer and base is good enough for a teen 13- 16
Answer by Hiro a Hero?I don’t wear make-up. I did on rare occasions and I think it makes most people look fake when they put on a lot, sorry, but the less the better that they wear.Answer by Kendi
tell me about it, just answering that question someone asked before, and all the answers really frustrated the hell out of me…
not only does it make you “uglier” it stuffs up your skin, you age sooner and look like a trains hit you.
i totally agree and if i ever have a daughter – she will not be allowed make up till she is 18 – then she can make up her own mind.
🙂
I am 13 and I don’t wear any makeup but all of my friends do. I am not going to get mad at anyone if they wear makeup but I am not going to tell anyone to wear it. You are exactly right that it hides true beauty! = )Answer by KICKxASSxMONKEY
yea but some ppl think that it is totally cool to wear that young. in high school ppl wear it bc they don’t wanna be alone. (they wanna get done!) which is kinda stupid…..but i think it is ok to wear makeup if it is the mineral kind bc it keeps ur natural beauty staying…well beautiful.Answer by Sweet & Sour™
To me there’s nothing wrong with accenting features. A little mascara, eyeliner, lipgloss is not covering anything up.
I think sixth grade is a little young, but still. People have opinions, it doesn’t mean one person is wrong about it and that another is right.. 🙂Answer by i love my family
totallay agree, i am 26 and started wearing makeup at about 19. i hardly use it still, just mainly eye stuff. Makeup is not be used as a total cover up. when you take ya makeoff, you look like a tottally diff person, so girls, take it easy on applying makeup. be more natural.Answer by Missy..TTC with # 1
i dont wear it all the time it can clog pores and break ur face out if u use the wrong kind. So i kinda agree.
When i do wear it, its not very much. And that is like maybe 5 times a year Ha ha.
Answer by hcoandfitch32I just turned 13 and I have been waring makeup for 2 years now.

I don’t understand what the big problem is with wearing makeup, especially at the age of 16 i could understand if you are a couple yrs younger. I think whoever wants to wear it go ahead and whoever does not then don’tAnswer by I ♥ Purple!
I think it should be their choice.Answer by Catholic 14
well actually i agree and i am 15. i only wear make up (cover up and light eyeshadow) on certian occasions (funnerals, weddings, award events, ect.)
i normally do not because makeup makes you break out more, it is a pain to apply, and i think it hides true beauty.
plus i go to an all girls school….who is there to impress? my 54 year old male teacher???
Answer by ALICIA!I disagree, when I was a teenager I remember having pimples here and there, and I would have to use make up to cover them up. So it all depends, on the other hand, kids in 6th grade should not be wearing make up…but who is to judge?Answer by luna
well i think its ok to wear foundation to cover up acne but like lipstick and eyeshadow thats were it gets tacky.Answer by katie
it totally depends on the person.
i agree that it’s stupid to let girls under 13 wear serious makeup because you kind of…. mess up your childhood???
my friend next to me totally disagrees and says she was wearing what i call ‘serious’ makeup at age 11 but i think that you shouldn’t have to worry about stuff like that at that age.
for fun ok, but everyday?
i wish that i could be confident not wearing makeup but i’m not. even if the tiny amount of makeup that i do wear is probably hardly noticable, i feel better about myself when i wear it.
i actually admire girls who can go bare faced and feel just as good as the gorgeous girl wearing a ton of mascara, eyeliner etc next to her.
it really depends…. although i think in an ideal world makeup wouldn’t even exist, it’s just a trend to ‘enhance your features’ my friend says, but i would say also to cover up the ‘nasty’ bits.
i know i think you should be at least in highschool to wear makeup it just bugs me that we as a society are being hypocrits we are telling preteens to not grow up to fast yet we give them make up and skimpy clothes and tell them its ok anyway i personally dont like a lot of make up if im wearing my contacts instead of my glasses i just put some mascara on and maybe a touch of eyeshadow and if its like a special occasion ill just put more eyeshadow on i personally dont care for make up nor do i have the timeAnswer by Kaaatie
eh.. i agree to a certain extent.
There’s nothing wrong with wearing make up. It’s meant to accentuate your features, not hide them. That’s where people go wrong.
I wear make up but only eye shadow, mascara, and/or eyeliner and occasionally lip gloss. It’s not “hiding” my beauty.
Make up can give a lot of self-conscious girls a little bit more confidence..and what’s wrong with that? Thats certainly what it does for me, and it does for a lot of girls.
Honestly, adolescence can be a weiird time for some girls, and they just want something that can make some things a little easier. I see nothing wrong with it (but I do agree that there is a “too young” factor. the girl should at least be in highschool).
Funny story actually:
I know a girl who reaaaally cakes it on. Like..she wears a ton of make up. And she had apparently like scrunched her forehead at some point, and even after she had relaxed her face…she had lines where her make up had “indented” (you could see ‘wrinkles’ in her make up!). HOW FUNNY IS THAT?!!
calm your nips lol 🙂
i personally don’t see anything wrong with wearing a little eyeliner. Or even concealer (if you have bad acne)
Answer by Vanessa Michele(:I agree!
I don’t wear it, because it doesn’t look good on my face.

Yeah, make up is not that important to be beautiful.
We are beautiful without make up.
So why wasting money on make up?
How so stupid.
Answer by ~♥♥KoKo♥♥~i agree wiht you. the right age should be in 9th grade and that too only eyeliner and mascara. no foundation or face powderAnswer by mig15
That’s true. Absolutely no need to wear make up. Why make the make up people rich. And they test it on animals to.Answer by Tonks
Teens generally want to wear make-up as they feel that it is something that is ‘grown-up’ to do, and also because they feel that it makes them look attractive.
I started experimenting with make-up when I was about 10 or 11, wearing it properly when I was about 12 or so. Then, when I was about 17, I realised that I didn’t actually need it, and a lot of the time, people looked better without it. Now, I only wear a very little, usually only if it’s a special occasion or I’m going to a party or something.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to just say that teenagers are not allowed to wear make-up – it’s only going to make them more rebellious and probably wear more when they are allowed to wear it. I think it’s something they need to figure out for themselves – there’s no teacher like experience.
Your attitude may not be shared by many. But if that’s what you believe in, then stick to it – I think you have a more mature attitude than most, so well done!
Hope this helps.

I’m 13, and I started wearing makeup when i was about 9. I would wear a rim of white or colored eyeliner (whichever matched my clothes) on my upper lashline, and lipgloss.
I wear a little bit of everything now, foundation primer, foundation, blush, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow [depending on the look i’m doing], and lipgloss. i see nothing wrong with it. i know how to properly apply it, and i see nothing wrong with it. when needed, i go with the bare minimum, eyeliner and mascara, but i do it because i like it.
i hope to make a profession out of it and become a mac makeup artist one day, maybe on the side. i love makeup. it’s a fun way to express yourself. when done right, its an art form.
here are a few pictures of myself to show you:

[accidental picture, but it gives a good idea of about the ‘heaviest’ i apply my makeup, which still isn’t TOO heavy.]
