bulabate: What is the TEA PARTIES view on State lotteries or disguised voluntary taxation gambling lure?
My guess the average Yahooer may not recognize state lotteries as a form of voluntary Taxation, Which are also very corrupt in most states.

Personally, I have no problem with state lotteries. The key word is “voluntary”.
People have the right to participate or not participate. The lottery in my state may soon be privatized and then taxed.
Yes people know they are meant to raise tax money. You really think everyone was born yesterday. You probably were born after lotteries were started but most people saw them come into being and know why.
Answer by Mike SYou’re probably right in this. By and large most people would love to hit the big one and don’t begrudge the buck or two a week expenditure. I’ve been known to purchase a quick pick or two for the hell of it. Do they realize it is a tax of sorts designed merely to add money to the general fund? Probably not. Are they corrupt in most states? Well I’d have to see some sort of evidence on that one. As a rule I don’t make sweeping statements like that. You have a good day now
