Jeffrey C: What is the shopping spree married couples do to furnish their house?
What is the shopping spree a married couple goes on to furnish their house. They pick a store and have scanners and then they go around scan all the stuff they want. What is that called and how does it work exactly?

that is the bridal registry you do for the wedding. you have to register and let the wedding guests know where to shop and what you need. you can also do this for a baby. if you are already married you may have missed the boat
It’s called a registry. You go to whatever store you want to register at & you scan all the items that you want. Then people can go online or in the store & look up your registry & decide which of those items you want they will purchase for you. They can have it shipped directly to you or to themselves or pick it up & wrap it for you. And it’s not something “married” couples generally do. It’s usually a wedding registry that you start before you get married. If you’re talking about a “house warming” party that’s different but the same concept. A wedding registry is fine but just so you know a housewarming registry for a couple that’s already married is considered to be pretty tacky.
