emily: What is the safest way to heat up a golf ball?
I’m running an experiment to see the effects that the temperature of a golf ball has on the height of the bounce. What is the safest way to heat up a golf ball? I know I could try the microwave or oven but I am not sure how safe that is.

Yea you can use the microwave. If not, lighters
Boiling it seems like a way to get it hot without melting it or lighting it on fire, and you’d know the exact temperature that you heated the ball to.Answer by Mellida Adam
Hitting a fastball is the most basic element of successful hitting. If you can’t hit the fastball – you can’t hit – period. Sorry to be so blunt. But, the first pitch you must master hitting, is the fastball. As a rule, you will see more fastballs in any given at-bat than you will see of any other pitch. You will see more fastballs for strikes from the opposing pitcher too, since it is the easiest pitch (usually) to throw for a strike.Answer by Old Timer/Pops/Papa
Pocket Hand warmers work well at warming up a golf ball.
I would place two inside my Golf bag ball compartment during fall and winter golf to keep the balls pliable when I needed one.
Hope that this helps.
Answer by AnthonyI know some pros/caddies will keep the ball in there pocket (near their groin) to keep it warm and will actually switch the ball up in between holes so they always have a warm ball in play. Depends on if you’re out in the field or have the luxury of appliances near by.
i would personally never stick anything in the microwave unless you plan to eat it/drink it. Some one mentioned dropping it in a pot of boiling water for a quick heat up. You could always just keep some in your house and some in the freezer and switch depending on what temperature you need (unless you want to use the same ball for both temperatures). if you have central air put it by a vent and turn on the heat or if your house is old, put it by the radiator. Fireplace also could work or a heat lamp are also suggestions
