i am a us citizen and planning to petition my mother. what and how long is the procedure to petition my mother. what forms are needed in both parties.

You need to file an I-130, I-134 and G-325 with the CIS.

There is no waiting period for petitioning your mother. It will take about 8 months to a year for the visa to be issued.

8 months to a year for the VISA TO BE ISSUED is correct. After she gets her she migh have a wait for her Green Card, but she’ll be here and she’ll be totally legal.

8 months to a year is SO wrong!! we have been waiting for over 3 years now, there is a HUGE back log for a green card here, bring your mom over and then start the wait!

If you are so lucky dont expect your mom to be here until another 10 years or more.
