Matt: What is the most physically difficult position in rugby?
I’m curious about what people think is the most physically strenuous/ difficult position in 15s rugby.

It depends what you find strenuous. Personally, i’d hate to be a back ‘cuz I hate to run as much as they do. Then again, playing flank as I do i’m always in on the physical work. On my team, though i’ve never played the position, i’d have to say our 8 does the most work. They run quite a bit and play a huge role in our forward crashes.
FRONT ROW FORWARD!! in the scrums your shoulders hurt and neck could break. also you have to lift people in line outs. you actually have to run more than backs to get to every tackle to clean out, ruck and mall (thats if you do it proply i usually skip a couple because i get tired)Answer by Dan

Again we need definitions. What do you mean by “physically difficult”? I would go for a front-rower myself — the idea of playing hooker terrifies me. But I can see an argument for pretty much any position, depending on how you define the question.Answer by Spider99
Hooker – a lot of pressure on the neck and shoulders in the scrums and your also expected to play as a 4th loose forward as well.Answer by simon
Prop , Hooker and Falnk and just maybe flyhalveAnswer by Bear
Just speaking from my 16 years of playing experience, but I have always been the most exhausted after playing front row. I have also played second lock, flank, 8 man, center (inside and outside) and fullback. Basically, everything except wing and hooker, so I know about what is required for each. The tight 5 work the hardest due to the scrums, rucking, mauling, and banging. But mostly the scrums. And the front row guys take the worst of it. Not only are they pushing with their legs and pulling with their arms and backs, but they are being squeezed from both side while doing it. It’s a real beating.Answer by Shaun w
im with dan on this one …
OPEN SIDE FLANKER NO 7/ and also NO 10 first five
he is a mixture of a back and forward. he needs to be there at every second ruck
hes directs the engine room.. and also trys to steal the ball at every chance there’s a ruck or maul
he will be following the backline move
NO 10 is theplay makerr he finds territory and options that will be best for the team, he will controll the backline.
