Sean G: What is the Evolutionary Function of Dancing to Music?
I understand that dancing on its own might be related to attracting a mate, but why in human evolution has dancing become so strongly connected to music. It seems that the human compulsion to dance, or move rhythmically, to music is universal whether or not a potential mates is present. Does anyone know the function and origins of this?
