John: What is the difference between loving someone and and being psychotic?
Is not loving someone completely irrational, does love not go to such a deep level that we as humans can not explain yet. Thus making us mentally insane?
P.S. Plz elaborate

The difference is whether they reciprocate.
The definition of a psychotic is someone who is mentally impaired to the point where they cannot function in society.
A person in love is different in that they have discovered a reason and motivation outside of themselves to be functional in society. These people usually end up creating society. Sometimes this only happens after a few hearbreaks, but they mature out of it and keep developing until the right partner comes along. Psychotics do not develop, nor mature, nor do they share.
Answer by Jamler Dbeing psychotically in love would mean that you are physically unable to focus on anything outside of the love, to the point where it disrupts your life, removing all other aspects that make you a whole person.
most stalkers would fall into this category.
Answer by Tom HNo. There is a wide chasm between the two terms. You are implying that experiencing this emotion equates to being mentally deficient, thus it is an offensively worded question, or a question put forth with little forethought. Without this emotion, or state of mind, we would exist like animals or insects. This emotion brings out the better side of people. Psychosis does not. Perfectly rational people experience love and are productive members of society. Psychotic people are not necessarily productive. Stephan Hawking is a good example. He is married, and thus, experiences the state of love. If you do not know who this person is, Google the name.
