what is the difference between DOW JONES and NASDAQ and the relation of NASDAQ with NYSE?

Rabih: what is the difference between DOW JONES and NASDAQ and the relation of NASDAQ with NYSE?
i know that Dow Jones index is the average of the closing indices of 30 industrial company’s and it’s sisters +20 transportation co but the thing is what is the simplification of NASDAQ ?!?!?

There is no Dow Jones equilivant for NASDAQ.

Nasdaq is the index mostly for technology stocks. And it is also a marketmaker just like the new york stock exchange, unlike the dow which is is just an index.

The Dow Jones is an index of 30 stocks. The NASDAQ is a stock exchange like the New York Stock Exchange to trade securities. But the NYSE is a physical place and the NASDAQ is an electronic trading exchange.
