Chris O: What is the difference between Criminal Justice studies and Criminology?
I want to get a degree in Criminal Justice. However I do not know which one would be more helpful to become a police officer. If you could explain the differences/similarities between these two degrees, that would be very helpful. Thanks!

Crim Justice can be an Assoc. degree or Bachelor’s degree, Criminolgy is a Bachelor’s degree. I have an Assoc in Crim Justice, it’s very helpful in my career choice (I’m a C.O.).

Both degrees are good, Criminal Justice is vast, what area of criminal justice are you looking to have a career in when you recieve your degree?
Criminology is an excellent choice! It is used in the area of forensics. I have a CJ degree, and now I have one in Criminology and it has opened up more doors and higher salaries to choose from.
Keep inquiring about the two. Figure out what career field you are looking to work in when you complete college and focus on that particular degree or do a double major in CJ and Criminology.
