Chemistry affects a lot of things. What is paint made of? Molecules, pigments, chemicals that combine to make it stick to the canvas or blend well with other colors. What happens in a dancer’s muscles to make them tired or sore? Lactic acid. What happens in your brain when you get scared? Adrenaline. What happens in your brain when you get happy or exercise? Endorphins. Chemistry is everywhere.
The first day of college chemistry, our professor asked, “What is the only thing not affected by chemistry?” After many answers, he said, “The only thing that chemistry does not affect is faith.” Pretty profound. I still remember that moment nearly 17 year ago.Answer by Ted H
***WHAT IS THE CONNECTION OF CHEMISTRY TO OTHER SCIENCES?***
Someone has said:
Physics is the basis of chemistry.
Chemistry is the basis of biology.
Biology is the basis for psychology.
Psychology is the basis of sociology.
The major fields of science like biology and physics have chemistry involved in them. Enzymes, which are important in biology are a form a chemical kinetics, they speed up a reaction. Ions of chemicals are needed for important functions in the body. Thermodynamics which is studied in physics in a branch of Thermochemisty.
