alw0322: What is the best hotel to stay in at disney world?
We want to stay in a hotel that has a monorail to take you straight to the parks. What hotel is the best for kids under 3, and the best priced?

You should check out this site for great deals on hotels and travel.
There are three resorts with direct monorail access: Disney’s Grand Floridian, Disney’s Polynesian, or Disney’s Contemporary Resort. These three resorts are on the main loop to the Magic Kingdom. You have to exit at the Ticket and Transportation stop to exit your monorail and get on a separate monorail to travel to Epcot. They are the only two parks accessible by monorail, the rest you would have to take a bus. All of the resorts have access to the parks by bus. To be honest, I would recommend downgrading to a moderate resort and rent a car. With a three year old, the last thing you want to do is be waiting for up to 30-45 minutes to catch a bus. Our personal experience has been that our then 3 and 5 year old enjoyed staying at the value priced Pop Century Resort almost as much as they liked Animal Kingdom Lodge. At three they are happy as long as there is a pool available (they won’t even care much about the slide.) We compromise and stay at moderate resorts. We like the Port Orleans best (either side)Hope this helps…b.t.w. If you are traveling between April 15 and June 2nd be sure to ask about the free MYW ticket upgrade that give you park hopping and water parks for free : )Answer by Rutroh
Grand Floridian is THE BEST hotel on Disney property…. it is the most expensive also ….
The Contemporary and Polynesian are the two original resorts on Disney property and although they are the oldest they are extremely nice…
All three are on the monorail line that can take you to Magic Kingdom and with a transfer to another monorail to EPCOT but there isn’t monorail svc to MGM or Animal Kingdom but there is a very effective bus system to take guests to all parks.
These are the best hotels for Magic Kingdom because it allows easy nap time beacause you do not have to hassle with busses, parking lots etc…. but it is further from the other parks.
Best Advice I can give you is plan to be at parks early …. leave by noon and head back to hotel for a mid afternoon nap then chose a park for afternoon/evening. Doesnt matter what hotel for the kids, make sure Mom and Dad are happy…. travel between resorts and parks.
Answer by nurserachet_0000The hotels on the Monorail are very expensive. However, that being said, it is the best way to do Disney. The buses take so long and the Monorail is so convenient. I have stayed at the Grand Floridian. It is wonderful and you can get a room with a view of Magic Kingdom and watch the fireworks from there and not hassle with the throngs as they leave the park. The Contemporary is within walking distance of MK and is on the Monorail. The Polynesian looks beautiful but costs an arm and a leg. Check www.disneyworld.com for prices.Answer by Reno M
I like the Contemporary myself, although I would stay away from the auxiliary units, because in my opinion, they are not worth the price. Chef Mickey’s located in the main concourse is also a popular character breakfast location if you have kids and don’t have reservations to the Crystal Palace inside the park. The California Grill is also on the upper floor and (arguably) the best fine dining restaurant on Disney property…. just make sure you have a table reservation in advance.
