2282: What is an inexpensive but still nice hotel on the strip in Vegas to stay in?
I’m planning a Vegas trip in a few months. We usually have a lot of people going and splitting the cost so we stay in a place like the Venetian, but this time, that’s not the case and budgets are tight. I’m not interested in staying in a cruddy motel off the strip. Are there any good hotels with good prices that aren’t cheesy like Excalibur or Circus Circus? Anyone’s experience at a less expensive yet fun, nice, “non-kid themed” hotel would be great.

Check out vegas.com and search Casino Hotel rates by descending price. There are plenty of deals on rooms depending on your arrival and departure dates. Also, check out the Luxor and Treasure Island website. They periodically run $ 99 nights.
If you are looking for great hotel deals, then check out because they post deals for many hotels on the strip and you may be able to stay at a nicer hotel for the same price.
The other cheaper hotels on the strip are Luxor, Monte Carlo, Bally’s, Imperial Palace, and Harrah’s. None of them have children’s themes, but Harrah’s is the closest being Mardi Gras themed.
Bally’s, Imperial Palace, and Harrah’s do not have resort fees. This is good because the price you see is what you get. Still the other hotels can be cheaper, just make sure you include the resort fees in the total cost because normally the booking site does not mention them. Take a look at for a list of all hotel resort fees and what they include.
I hear the Luxor is getting old, but if the room is just to sleep in then you don’t need to worry about having the best of the best. If that concerns you, try the other cheaper hotels.

I would suggest you check one of the hotel comparison sites – the fact that their compare prices lets you find the hotel at the best rates.
I can recommend you HotelCalculator.com – at this link you will find over 400 hotels in Sin City 🙂
Answer by MariePMonte Carlo, Flamingo or Harrahs are only a few hotels which are very nice with reasonable prices. Regarding your budget it is the best to book directly on your desired hotels website. The Flamingo is a great place. It has a the best location and good prices. Avoid the hotels that charge “resort fees”.If you really want to save money then Imperial Palace would be a good choice. For a more luxurious, yet not as expensive stay, try Paris or even Ballys. None of these properties are kid friendly.Answer by banananose_89117
You named two of the less expensive, so check Stratosphere, Sahara, Imperial Palace or RiveriaAnswer by MsMagenta
Try vegas.com and bookit.com
My husband and I have stayed at the Mirage twice and we love it! We have also stayed at the Cliff’s At Peace Canyon, which is a time share resort. If you can be flexible about your dates then you can sometimes find a better deal. Also depending on if you are flying or driving you can sometimes get great package deals. I have friends who are staying at the Vdara right now which is new and very beautiful. Stay away from the Stratosphere, The Flamingo, and most places on Freemont Street. Good luck!
Answer by MikuYou have a lot of options. I would recommend Monte Carlo, Bally’s and Tropicana as less expensive hotels that are still good. None of these are cheesy at all. Monte Carlo and Bally’s both have great locations and Tropicana has just renovated all the rooms, so any of these would be good choices.

Answer by Dale Mathewcheck out the MGM Grand is on sale for 72 hours. The rates are USD 68 per night from Monday to Thursday.
I think the sale gets over tomorrow.
Answer by Bob UrsI’d try Flamingo, Bally’s, or something like that just for the location. If your budget is tight, try to go during the weekdays, you’ll save that much money. Try https://www.mycheapvegas.com for all the deals. Cheers!Answer by matthew654654
It seems that more and more people are posting answers with CLICKABLE links & have agendas in mind. Geeeez.
Anyhow, i’m a local here & i can give you some solid 1st-hand advice.
BILL’S would be a great great choice. Really reasonable rates. It’s mid-strip (the location is the best of the best). It’s a smaller hotel — check in will take you 2 minutes. There’s never a line. Harrah’s owns it & there’s rumors it will be expanded, torn down, etc, etc, etc… But, meanwhile, it’s fantastic!! The rooms are not 5-star… but, are VERY clean, and adequate. The bed is very comfy. Think of a cloud crossed with a marshamllow. I actually stayed there in July. The casino is simple – easy to navigate. And, if you want to gamble elsewhere — you have 8 choices VERY close by!!! As for the “kid” factor — i know what you mean…. i wouldnt want kids, strollers, kids, messy buffets, kids screaming, more kids, strollers, parents who yell at their kids, strollers, and more strollers!!!! You wont get that at BILL’S. Fyi – BILL’S used to be called the Barbary Coast.
The Flaming-O. They keep stating that their rooms are renovated. A friend stayed there and thought the room was an absolute joke. In addition — some rooms can be an enormous walk once you get off the elevator.
