cheap and healthy don’t go together unless you raw feed.
Better foods cost more yes but you typically feed a lot less.
Answer by LorraineAgree with April……….. lol…. don’t know whether she is super or awesome, but I agree about the raw food. lol.Answer by NutroMeagan
Nutro Max is an excellent food. It is an all natural food. No ground yellow corn (filler and allergen. No by-products (heads, feet, intestines, etc). No artificial colors or flavors. Nutro also has the highest levels of essential fatty acids (Omega 3 & 6) to help promote healthy skin and coat and also reduce shedding. It is going to be more expensive than what you are used to, but because there are no fillers, your dog will get all of his nutrients in less kibble. Therefore he will eat less and your bag of food will last longer. It is 100% guaranteed, so give it a few weeks, if he doesn’t like it or you don’t notice a difference, return it (with your receipt) and get your money back.Answer by Johan Song

Can you find a place that sells Diamond Dog Food? Diamond or Diamond Naturals are much better foods than Puppy Chow. If you’re buying your food at Wal-Mart, you could try the Maxximum Lamb & Rice-it’s not a really good food, but it’s the best at that store. If your family has a CostCo membership, their Kirkland brand is good, but don’t make that let you believe that the Sam’s Club brand is edible, though-it’s NOT good food. Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul is a good one that is reasonably priced, and Canidae is a great choice. Healthwise is another to look into (it’s what I would choose in the lower priced foods).
I would absolutely recommend NOT buying Nutro products (especially the extra-crappy Max line)-I have no idea why “NutroMeagan” keeps claiming that it’s so great (or that it doesn’t contain corn): it has CORN GLUTEN, RICE BRAN, WHEAT, and fat from unidentified “POULTRY”. Gluten and bran are LEFTOVERS from manufacturing-whole ground grains are the only acceptable grains to find in a food-you don’t want to give your dog glutens. Wheat is a common food allergen in dogs and people, and the food is quite light on meat products, too. The corn gluten and rice bran are in there to replace meat proteins (they both are protein sources-though not preferable to MEAT). By the way: CORN GLUTEN and RICE BRAN ***ARE*** fillers, and ***ARE*** byproducts of the food industry (who then sells their garbage like corn gluten to the pet food industry rather than throwing it out).
