Greyed Out: What is a good song to break into during another song?
I’ve raised an idea in my band, and we want to start playing a song of a soft nature, and then break into a far more heavier song sometime after the intro of the first song. The concert will be at school, and we’d think it would be great it being our last year and all. Any suggestions are appreciated.

even though it’s a 90’s song,”american woman ‘ by lenny kravitz is always a rocker
HAHAH! Good idea! I like songs like that. They use a classical song and then break into a heavy beat and rap or rock!! Whatevers cool!! Maybe use:
When can i see you – Baby Face.
Nobody Knows – the tony rich project.
back at one – Brina Mcknight.
Hard to say im sorry – chicago..
Things like that. im surr you could google some R&B songs or slow songs!! =]

there are a lot of great songs out there
but it sounds like your going in super soft, drama wise..to build the mood, and then bam..techno?!? well maybe not.. here a couple of ideas..

I think the best advice is to know who your audience is, and its great to do original songs, but dont let the audience tune you out. Dont bore them!!
Try playing “take it easy” or the all time favorite ” hotel california”, put your own spin on it, and make it your song!!
Hope this helped, and GOOD LUCK!

Free Bird- It’s both soft and rockin’ at the same time and definately a crowd pleaser. It might take a while to master the guitar solo but if you can Go 4 It!
