Jay: What food stuff should I bring on a Thomson holiday home holiday in france?
Im going on a Al Fresco holiday in france and am staying in a holiday home, its self catering and am not sure what foods to bring with me.
I’ve thought of basics like salt, pepper, pasta etc.
Im doing this to save money as I don’t see the point in buying full packets of food which i wont use. ie a full packet of salt!

You should take any foods that you would miss from home. Basics like salt, pepper etc. are the same the world over so you may as well buy when you get there.
If you are going to France, then be prepared to enjoy the local cuisine. The French have some wonderful dishes and it would give you the perfect opportunity to practice your foreign cooking skills. Taking food with you is just a waste of space, take the essentials that you cannot do without (eg: Jaffa Cakes) and hit a supermarket when you get there.
You don’t need to bring anything, you can get just about everything in the stores nearby. If you do have a favorite, bring it.
You can bring spices if you don’t want to buy them again, they take up very little space, but for the main eats, buy local.Answer by jean marc l
