Luxiebow: what film do I need for a kodak 400 instamatic camera?
I just bought one off ebay and am unsure what film I need to get for it. I read somewhere that the instamatic cameras were made to make loading film easier but not sure if this film will be easy to get or not.

Hoo boy, those cameras used 126 cartridges and they stopped making those years ago. The only place you can find it these days is at Ferrania Technologies and be prepared to pay for both the film and the processing.
It takes cartridge based Instamatic Film which hasn’t been made since 2008.Answer by John P
Before you buy old cameras from a distant source make sure you know something about them. As it is, someone has offloaded a possibly useless camera (no film available?) onto you. Most camera shops have old film cameras at cheap prices and would know whether you could readily get the film for them – stick to 35mm for best availablity and processing possibilities. Sorry, I sound brutal, but that’s life. As a matter of interest, why did you buy a very simple camera that takes film, rather than a cheap digicam? If you need a simple film camera get a ‘disposable (single-use)’ camera. If you want to ‘get into film’ for its advantages, get a more serious camera and learn how to load it.
