bdesousa1: What electric guitar is good for a person with big fingers?
I just started playing a Yamaha Pacifica 112. My tutor mentioned that my hands seem too large for this guitar. Are there any guitars that have more space in their frets so my fingers will fit better?

Electric BASS!
Don’t be fooled, if you are a good musician, and you put together a rocking look, you will go far as a bass player.
Answer by jonnyjimmyfaceThere are lots of guitars that have larger fret boards. Guitars that have JUMBO frets and 24 fret guitars generally have more spacing. Another thing to consider is the thickness of the neck itself. Some older Les Pauls, for example, have much thicker necks than the newer ones. And one last thought Jimi Hendrix had HUGE hands and he played a standard Fender Stratocaster, this also lends itself to things that people with small or average size hands cannot do. Hendrix would often use his thumb as a capo leaving his other fingers to play within the “barre”.Answer by Lone Wolf
Guitars come with different size necks. That being said, some makes tend towards wider necks and some narrower. Rickenbackers have narrow necks. I also have very large hands (I can palm a basketball in each hand and shake it) and very large, blunt, fingertips. I have needed to work on my technique a LOT and always have to have my fingernails cut down to the quick. I used to have a Fender 12 string solid body that I played as a six string. That worked out pretty well. You can also buy after-market necks that are wider for pretty reasonable prices. Here’s my favorite place and they will tell you everything you want to know about necks/fingerboard widths, radiuses, scale lengths, fret size, etc, etc.https://www.warmoth.com/guitar/necks/necks.cfm
Fenders have the most options new and after market.
