: What does the junior bride do in a wedding?
My aunt is getting married in 2 weeks and she wants me to be her junior bride, so she got me a dress like hers, shoes similar to hers and my hair has to be like hers and she wants me to wear a veil… I think I’m going to look sooo slow wearing a veil and I’m not even the bride…she said that the junior bride is supposed to look like the real bride but i don’t know, Is this what a “junior bride” does in a wedding?

I have yet to figure that out, HON..ususally they are called miniature brides and they are around 4-6 years of age.
Honestly I think it’s a piece of silliness that has no purpose in fact it takes away from the bride but if it makes your aunt happy…go along with it.
You can always ask your Aunt what a junior bride does , why does she need one,and doesn’t having one take attention away from the bride because instead of one bride there are two????? See what she says.
Answer by NinaPinaPeople put up with many things that they don’t like or want for a relative’s wedding. Consider it an honour that she asked you to be her junior bride. Ask her what is expected of you and try to comply. Wearing a veil for a short time is not a big deal in the general scheme of things. She must really love you if she wants you to look like her on so important a day as her wedding day. Don’t let her know how you really feel.Answer by navillusette
Most women only get to dress like a bride once in their lives, I guess you get a bonus opportunity! But, I have never actually heard of a junior bride and don’t know what they do. I’m interested in the answer to this. Have you asked your aunt?Answer by Libby
Mostly you’re just a prop. As a junior bridesmaid you’re too young to have responsibilities with the planning and etc. If you want to do something for the wedding (for example, help make wedding favors), ask your aunt if there is a job you can help with. If she says no, then just make sure to show up on time and do as you are asked for the ceremony itself.
The “junior bride” thing is kind of a new trend. I don’t understand it personally, but if that’s what the bride wants, then it’s what she gets.
