That was fairly common; a young woman would be married off to an older man.

In this situation, you should pay more attention to what the law says, because even if the Bible okays it, anything sexual between an adult and a minor is illegal.Answer by Tuberoot
There is a word in the Greek which appears in the Bible called Catamites. It is often translated as effeminate or homosexual. But it actually means this:
catamite
–noun
a boy or youth who is in a sexual relationship with a man.

It’s yet another way for sin to manifest in the life of a sinner. Anyone who is engaged in such a thing is still able to come to Christ, provided that God wants that particular sinner.
If a person wants to come to Christ, they can. No matter what.

the Bible says in Hebrews to obey authority
Hebrews 13:17(a)
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account.
if its not legal, its not Biblical
Answer by Weis NichtYou get legal terms about that…. in your country.
Well, for the bible… As far as I remember I do not remember a ” date” is there said as wrong.
And if you ask any other question you not want to ask here….
The Bible is written to learn about God. Theology is usually the term for that…
To find a boy or girlfriend… I think that was so far left to “Mother Nature” …
And in the time of the bible it was anyhow the way… that the woman did get a man trough the parents…( usually father I would think, because it was patriarchate.)
Except they was slave, then they have had no right…
Or they was free… but poor…. either they beg… or sold there body when they have had to.
Or they did die.
There was not such well fare like nowadays .
Answer by dewcoonsThe Bible does not give an “age of consent”. Partly because the tracing of dates and ages was so poor that it was often difficult to tell how old a person was. Rather what it forbids is any type of sexual relationships between people who are not married (regardless of age). Marriage could only happen with the consent of parents (father) or the elder who stood in place. They would be the ones to decide that a relationship was improper.
Today, that would translate into the authorities (acting in the place of the elders) placing laws on age restriction, etc. And the parent being able to tell their child who they can and can not date.
Lets be honest… Why would an adult want to date a teen? Either they think they can trick the teen into giving them “something” that they could not bet from a mature and intelligent adult. Or they are looking for someone who is immature and thus controllable to keep under their thumb. Or they are immature and want someone to allow them to act like a teen/child. There is no valid reason why a mature adult would want to date a teen.
The Bible does not saying that adults dating teens is a sin. It does say that dishonoring your parent or breaking the law is a sin. If the relationship violates those, then it is wrong.
