Grace: What does it mean when an earlobe piercing is stinging after 24 hours?
I had my ears pierced (4th one) on both my ears yesterday night. I had them pierced at Piercing Pagoda (bad place to pierce, I know) and they told me that if it still hurts it could be an infection.

It means that it’s a new wound created with dull, cheap metal that’s healing.
Infections are: red, swollen, hot to the touch, ooze a yellow/green pus, and often have a bad odor. If this starts happening, see your doctor right away.
That’s because they don’t know what they’re talking about.
You were just pierced yesterday; piercings are major traumas, it’s completely normal for it to still be sore, it probably will be for a few days or maybe even a week or so. This doesn’t mean it’s infected.
Answer by scotmid24 hours probably is not even enough time for an infection to take hold, sounds like this place is a bit dodgy.
Did they use a gun by any chance?
This is just me and I in no way recomend this, but personally I would use a safety pin on my own ears before getting them pierced with a gun (not that I DO pierce myself with safety pins).
I’m not going to go into great detail as to what is wrong with gun piercings as I’m sure you have heard it all before.
