Answer by my friendAs salaam.
Insha’Allah, in Islam, man is seen as a vice regent serving Allah, Subhanna wa Ta’ala and all of His creation which includes being responsible and caring for the environment. Alhumdulillah!
The Prophet Muhammad, sala ‘alayhi wa salaam, told us that we are responsible even for the amount of water we use, so as to waste none of it. Further, he said that if one was planting a tree and the Day of Judgment began, one should finish planting the tree! Alhumdulillah!
Unfortunately, the majority of the oil rich nations that profess to be Muslim in nature and thought have not and do not seem to practice the same and simply use the resources of the earth with which they have been blessed as a means of gaining worldly wealth which they have used to become increasingly materialistic.
May we all be righlty guided.
ma’a salaam
