CRK4385: What does a line drawn through an algebra problem mean?
I am studying for an algebra placement test and a few of the algebra problems included on this study guide have lines drawn through them. This is one of them.
9 / 3 x 5 – 8 / 2 + 7
(5 x 5 – 4 (4) (line drawn through this part)
Does the line drawn through the second portion of the problem mean not to do it or does it mean something else?

Perhaps the author wanted to eliminate that line and put the line to indicate that.
If so, the typist did not know that.

Answer by Didn’t hire me? Your mistakeI would email the author of the study manual and ask him. If you can’t find it, look up the author’s name in google and use the email address that comes up. Don’t worry about bothering him. I do it all the time.
