Carley: What do you think of social networking sites in terms of privacy?
Do you think it’s a safe choice considering the fact that many people and government agencies CAN have access to your personal information? Serious answers please. I’m not anti-government or anti-networking, just curious.

I think it’s safe if you’ve got nothing to hide, but like you said, it’s a choice. I hate people whining about the lack of privacy when they themselves made the choice to put their information online.
Yeah, it worries me deeply. It might be private, but one time I googled my name and found all of my fb posts on public groups, and you could see everything I put. That’s why I permanently deleted it, in hopes that it would delete all of my past posts.
But I always keep in mind that when I post something, I can never take it back and someone might find it later on. So when I’m older and try to get a respectable job or go to a good college, I don’t want some stupid post on Facebook holding me back from that.
Answer by RuthAnnNothing on the Internet is private. Nothing! Did U not hear on the news last week about the woman who was arrested for suspected terrorism because the Government flagged her emails? They have automated programs for this of curse. Humans do not have to do this. They just check the emails that get flagged. Once U send an email or attachment out in the Internet is is “Gone Baby Gone” There is no retrieving it. Yes, U can hire a company to try to clean up mistakes but that could be tricky.Answer by M4v3r!k
Don’t ever associate ANY website with “privacy”. If you put it online, it will be found (if not distributed), period. Besides, all you list here as a ‘threat’ is the government! I don’t worry about the GOVERNMENT reading my profiles. It’s potential employers, or companies that like to spam that I worry about. And they get the information freely.
