Helen: What do i need to be able to teach GCSE maths in Further Education?
Hi
I am currently an FE teacher teaching Skills for Life numeracy and literacy. I want to progress my career into teaching GCSE maths in a college setting. Can some one tell me what qualifications I must have to be able to teach this. I am also due to start a level 5 specialist diploma in the teaching of numeracy this September.
I teach at lincoln college.

Not enough information. Where are you located?
As far as I know, before teaching any subject at high school – you need to do have PGCE (you might know about it). If not, ask your friends who teach at colleges/high schools. My teachers who taught me GCSE Maths in high school did that (I mean PGCE) and that’s how he started teaching. Good luck.
