Is their a formulaor something.what changes to make the price change.

The stock market acts like a giant auction for stocks. As more people buy the “bid” up the price and the stock becomes more expensive. As more people sell the price goes down. So the auction process (supply and demand) determine the price, there is no formula.

Stock prices depend on many things, supply-demand, news from the companies, and also macroeconomic factors.

About going to NYSE, you cant do that. You have to buy through a broker. Opening a brokerage account is like opening a bank account, maybe easier.
