: What College can i attend if i want to start a buisness in construction management?
I want to start a buisness with my dad,hes been working construction for over 20 years.He doesnt know about these things as in college…lol
I saw a commercial about westwood college construction management and i might look in to it.
What are good colleges i should look at for this.

First it would be helpful if you actually knew a lot about construction, because there are many conditions there that are not found in most kinds of businesses- and I doubt in most courses you might take.

Courses like business management, finance & marketing and all the associated things would be appropriate. Doubt you will find many courses directed exclusively to construction management, but school counselors can tell you.

You also want to know if Westwood is accredited, and if it’s actually providing a degree or something more like a technical certificate. Do your homework.

Please do NOT sign up with westwood college, one of those private overly priced For-profit schools as they are merely out to “make a profit” (** and course credits may NOT transfer to other schools). Other private $ $ for-profit tech schools to beware of include penn foster, ashworth, devry, ITT tech, grand canyon, strayer, everest, brown mackie, high tech, aiu, kaplan, colorado tech, argosy, walden, ashford, keiser, regis, capella, university of phoenix, sanford brown, pima institute, remington and others.

These consumer sites have negative posts by former students of those private overpriced for-profit tech schools including westwood, and please heed the students’ warnings:

Please instead consider the more affordable and usually more regulated County Vocational school or Community College as long as the program is accredited within the industry.
