Akram Ayyash: What book would you recommend as an introductory text for learning Spanish?
I plan to learn Spanish, all by myself, and I am looking for books suitable for that. Of course I will try to use multimedia such as TV and newspapers to practice, but I need a book that will present Spanish (and that assumes I am not at all familiar with the language) in a systematic way, with a lot of examples and practice. I would prefer also a book with a lot of vocab word lists and grammar rules.
Thank You 🙂

This is what we use in class. It is very helpful, and in the workbook that you can buy with it which is the second link, it comes with these cards that listed vocab and everything….well at least mine did. I didn’t order it my school did for me, but I would recommend this. Good Luck.

Answer by Chris CI love Realidades as a Spanish teacher. If you get the teacher’s edition, it tells you the answers as well as what part of learning Spanish is taking place in each section (communication, connections, community, culture, or comparisons). Also, it has great online supplements for free. Also, conjuguemos.com is a great supplement for that book as well but it is unrelated.
Check amazon.com and ebay for the latest in their workbooks and listening activities for cheap.
Answer by Miyhaelo MarceloAre you looking to speak Spanish socially or are you looking to get a in depth experience of the language? If you are looking to speak Spanish socially I would focus on learning words and phrases and using mnemonic devices to remember them effectively. If you want to understand Spanish inside and out than I would recommend going to a Spanish class and or teaching yourself through the use of mnemonics and Spanish grammar and writing books.
You could effectively learn Spanish in a few weeks if you use the right system.
