Dolly: What book series will make a great christmas present for my mum?
She has read and loved the true blood series, twilight series, and vampire diaries. Though these are about vampires, she really loves books about doomed love like Wuthering Heights, and is a HUGE Agatha Christie fan who has all her books and enjoys some crime.
What book series do you think she will like?

You could try the Blood Ties series by Tanya Huff. They are about a female detective who knows a vampire and solves supernatural mysteries.

Not great literature, but great fun 🙂

This may be a bit out there but I defiantly recommend the Georgina Kincaid Series by Richelle Mead. Also her Vampire Academy booms as well. Lots of doomed love there in the both of them. The first one is a bout a succubus who is a character I think anyone can relate to, and she ends up falling for an author she is on the verge of obsessing over. The second is about a teenage girl who falls for a teacher at the all-vampire/dhampir academy.

It is kinda hard to say. Why don’t you go to one of the book stores and get her a gift certificate and let her pick out what books she wants. You can always wrap the gift certificate up real fancy in a box instead of putting it in a letter. But you ned to put something with weight to it in the box too – like book ends. Most adults who are over 30 know an extremely light weight box is a gift cert..

Oh…I know the PERFECT books.

They’re by Deanna Raybourn, and there’s three books in the series so far. It takes place in Victorian England, and it’s a mystery/romance series. It’s called the Lady Jane Grey series.
