Life Explorer: What are your favorite geometry and algebra review books?
I need a couple of good books to fine tune my geometry and algebra I/II skills. i haven’t seen either in over 20 years. i was looking at the Cliffnotes and Schaum’s outlines but would love some real time input. Possibly from a high school or community college math instructor?
A little clarification: I need to relearn algebra and geometry before I sit for the GRE. Sooo, a history of math doesn’t help much.

Its not exactly a geometry book, but one that opens the door to early geometry and makes the subject extraordinarily fascinating. It’s called ‘Solving Stonehenge’ and explains how prehistoric people developed an empirical understanding of geometry, used it to solve practical problems, to create decorative motifs and perhaps ‘sacred talismans’. Most students would find it very interesting.
