Insurance is specific to each state. Not all insurance companies are licensed to write in all states. And some of the best companies are regional, and you may have never even heard of them.
Anyway, you did not mention your state, so it is hard to answer this question accurately.
Secondly, I was going to mention that renter’s insurance is quite inexpensive. Maybe $ 150 per year. And the policies are pretty much standard between various insurance companies. Most may follow the ISO format, and all policies forms are approved by your state insurance commissioner.

If you have a car just bundle it together with your auto insurance as it will end up being much cheaper than buying an individual policy.

Hands down, the best one, is the one your car insurance is with. That’s because of the package credits you’ll get.
If you have no car insurance, it’s not going to matter very much, these are cookie cutter policies and all in the same price range, so whatever is convenient for you from any A rated carrier will be fine.

I know that Geico and Allstate have apartment insurance, and once I had mine thru Travelers but maybe you’d get a better rate at the same place where you get your car insurance. In addition you “might” need government flood insurance too, depends on if you live in a flood area (according to the flood map) or on the first floor at least.

Do you rent or own? Apartment Insurance is for the owner of the building. Renters insurance is for the renter. Start with the company that has your auto insurance to get the most discounts.

As others already noted, it depends on the state – the best bet is to shop around, because I work for an insurance company – have my auto insured elsewhere, but got a quote with both, turned out the company I worked for was cheaper (I have some titling issues that need to be worked out before I can move my auto to the other company).
Try the big ones first:
Geico, State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, etc (I didn’t note the company I work for, so this isn’t for sales), but ask around, ask friends and relatives where they have their home/renters insurance from. There’s nothing wrong with getting quotes (note they will run your credit in most states, and it will take a minor hit if you are getting quotes at a lot of different places)

State Farm and you also get a multi line discount. Renters insurance will provide additional coverage to help cover additional expenses as a result of a covered loss.
Ask this questions when making a selection.
Also ask if they offer the multi line discount as some companies do not.
