I have to do a reading project for history class and I need a book on the industrial revolution and labor unions or something similiar? I have done research and tried to find some good books but there are so many options. Does anyone have any suggestions on some good books?

I am going to keep it real. Do not try reading a 300 page on the industrial revolution or on labor unions. Instead, just look for summarized information like Encyclopedias, wikipedia. Look in a simpler textbook. If you have a history book that covers a lot of topics, then that’s perfect. It will have about 10 pages dedicated to the Industrial Revolution or maybe just a chapter. That way you can find the main points easily.

Example, spinning jenny, factories, steel, coal mills, cotton, textile, cotton gin. See now you have a few ideas you can expand. I recommend you focus on cotton and steel. You can also expand to telegraph and railways. Women working long hours, children working long hours. No workers rights. Safety not a priority. Emphasis on productivity.

Look up summarized essays online. Absolutely do not plagiarize. This is to simplify the topic only for better understanding.

Then write your essay. Quote only one or two lines from a big book so your teacher will think you read that book. Cite your sources. You will get an A. Thats how to do it.
