answer me: What are some aspects of Chinese religions that relate to ecological issues?
Hey. I am taking an Ecology and World Religions class (seems like a weird combo, i know). I have to give a presentation dealing with some aspect of chinese religions and the ecological implications of that aspect. I was thinking of talking about yin and yang, but wasn’t able too find too much information. Anyone have any other ideas.

this website has the Taoist outlook on ecology. https://hi.baidu.com/niushuzhong/item/9a2e6cc1923e5b47a9ba94d4

you may want to sneak in there that Mao Zedong’s philosophy was to “conquer nature”: he said, “Winds flap the sail, tortoise and snake are silent, a great plan looms. A bridge will fly over this moat dug by heaven and be a road from north to south. We will make a stone wall against the upper river to the west and hold back steamy clouds and rain of Wu peaks. Over tall chasms will be a calm lake, and if the goddess of these mountains is not dead she will marvel at the changed world. June 1956”
Even though Mao isn’t a religion, his philosophy was one of the only things Chinese were allowed to “believe” in his time! It’s a stark contrast from Taoism.
