What is the different between University Grant and Cal Grant?

Steven L: What is the different between University Grant and Cal Grant?
I’m a transfer student. On the financial aid website of the University, I see that I’m eligible for University Grant, which will pay all of my tuition fee. However, I want to know that is University Grant considered as Cal Grant A, or it’s a different type of financial aid? So, if this year I’m qualified for Cal Grant, what will happened which the University Grant? Will the university take back the University Grant, and get the Cal Grant instead? Or will the just hold the Cal Grant until I need it?

As far as I know you can only get one or the other. I go to CSUSB and if you do not qualify for the Cal Grant they will give you a University Grant for the same amount, as long as your EFC is 0. If you do qualify for the Cal Grant they will not give you the University Grant, or if you EFC is higher than 0 they will not give you the University Grant.
