What types of gifts are good for christenings?

: What types of gifts are customary at christenings?
I’ve never been to a christening before. My boyfriend’s nephew’s christening is in a couple of weeks, and I don’t know what types of gifts are expected at these events.

You can give memento type gifts like a picture frame with Name and Date engraved or you can give religious gifts such as a bible or medal, cross, etc.

I’ve never been to one either, although I’m guessing you couldn’t go wrong with a Bible that includes a section to list family heritage, lineage, relationships and history or a scrap book to keep milestones such as this, marriages and big life events.

It depends which role you are in. If you are godparent or close to the family, then something like the above are good, but if you are not so close then gift baskets or flowers, like these are a good choice.
