: How travel businesses benefit from referral for places that already have prices set?
If I as a travel company provide tours to museums how can I benefit from it if I cant set the price since it has already been set by museums themselves? What are my options to make money out of it? Thanks.
I am thinking about prison tourism:) How can I make money of sending people to prison museums and old or new prisons around the world? Does it make sense at all?

You need to contact them direct and suggest a commission fee. You will need to know how many you have sent to them as a guide so that you can negotiate, but if they are a state run museum I don’t like your chances as the red tape makes these deals almost impossible.
We sell on line travel insurance for Australians out bound and all other countries in bound to Australia and have thought about referrals but found that it detracts from the integrity of our core business so we keep out of it. Doesn’t mean its not right for you though. Answer by DaveI run a travel agency and have yet to see a museum pay a commission. Some museums (not all), however, will allow for private tour guides, so you could charge your clients for an inclusive tour and make sure there is enough of a markup for you to make a fair profit. Or simply make your money from the rest of the trip (hotel, tours, etc.) and book the museum as a courtesy to your client.Answer by Mark
If there is a prison tourism in that certain place then its a good thing.
