Taxes are done How does someone find a w2?

Trisha heart: Taxes are done How does someone find a w2?
Say someone did their taxes and they have all their forms and copies from turbo tax, but they lost their original w2 form, would the information from w2 form be on any of these papers from turbo tax?
Yes they have the printout which include the 1040 and other papers. It is a lot of pages. I was wondering which page it was on?

I’m not sure, I would suggest they call the Turbo Tax software company customer service

Answer by Gatsbi007
It’s not printed out, but you should be able to get the info if you login into your return thru TurboTax.

Answer by Chas
If you got the extended printout it will be there.

generally, people add up their W-2s (those that work more than one job, or 2 working spouses) and that is the amount that is entered on line 7 to start the tax return. The employer also gives multiply copies (for state and local, and for your records. – They have identical information). If you are on good terms with the employer, they can most likely get you a copy. The IRS also has the information. {But will probably charge a research fee.}

I know taxact.online has me put in each W-2 separately, so I have the information there. Does turbo tax do it that way?

This year, make several copies of your tax return, and staple a W-2 copy to each one, as well as including one which you keep off site (a lock box, or other safe place). {plus other necessary info.}

Answer by tro
the information from your W-2 is entered in the Q/A section of your tax program,
the W-2 information includes the name of your employer, tax ID #, your taxable wages, income tax withheld SS wages, SS withheld, Medicare wages, Medicare withheld, other deductions that might apply, your state employer ID # and state income, state income tax withheld, and other local taxes
if the Turbo tax print out will allow you to access this information, you can probably make a copy
otherwise, contact your employer for a duplicate copy
