Rachel Bortman: Stationary bike is too hard to pedal. How can I make it easier?
I got a stationary bike from a family member. It´s a fairly simple, mechanical bike, with an electric panel that shows the intensity and the time of usage, but when the intensity is set to the lowest, it´s VERY hard. (and when I make it higher, it just gets harder, so it´s not backward or anything). Is there any way of opening up the bike and adjusting the tension?

that would depend on make and model
you give no information
just start taking stuff off
get in there
most likely the’harder’ mechanism is stuck
so that even though you try to back off, internally, it still doesn;t
look for some kind of friction mechanism and see if you can get it away from the big wheel, if it has one
or maybe the bearings are frozen on the wheel
or the pedals
or the chain or belt is off
it;s really impossible to say

Answer by JDIt will depend on the model and your mechanical aptitude!
You can probably search on the internet for its user manual. It may give you some hints on adjustments and troubleshooting.
