never_hold_back: starting a haunted house?
A friend and I are big haunted house fans such as the 13th gate and the house of shock, sadly we find that those are not scary enough. We want to actually start our own haunted house, but we aren’t really sure on how we would go about starting one, i.e. money, somewhere to build it at, etc.
if anybody has any pointers or anything that would help us out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you could make it a comunity event and get teen volenteers for free and they get comunity service so that will provide you with pleanty of characters
A haunted house would be really sucsessful but it might be really short notice so idk what to do if its for this year but to maximize profit you guys shoould sell overpriced glow sticks us teens are crazy for glowing things HEHE
Answer by Frightmare MansionThere are so many specific questions to be asked just based on your question! My best advice is to go to a Halloween Convention. We have been doing home haunts for the past 12 years and will probably go professional in the next 5 years or so. This year we went to a convention in Las Vegas and it was primarily geared towards professional Haunters. They had seminars on everything from scaring up to answering every question you had. Everything you want to know about starting a haunted house!
There are a few very large conventions, and they aren’t very expensive, in fact the Transworld one was free because we do a “charitable home haunt” all we had to do was bring a flier for our haunt.
