Yuki: Should someone join sport clubs when they are not sure whether they are good or not?
Hello, I would like to join athletic clubs (Tennis, Volleyball and Handball). I am very interested in sport but I am not good in athletic areas. I enjoy those 3 sports. But I am not a good runner or anything. I don’t know whether I will do good or not since I have no one to practice with or to play with. But I really want to give it a try. The only problem and doubt I have is should someone join sport clubs when they are not really an “athletic” (I mean, usually athletics are those who are good at running and good at those sport skills) I am just someone who is interested in those sports, but not really sure what my levels are for the sports.
Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the policies of the clubs. Do they offer classes for beginners? Are they very competitive or is the idea just for fun and exercise?
You might want to check your local community college for low cost classes of the sports you are interested in.
Answer by viphockey4Most clubs have beginner leagues or beginner classes so you can learn at the same level without the competition. The upside to giving it a try is incredible…you get good exercise, meet new people, get an understanding of the sport from an “insider” perspective. The downside…maybe get a little sore? Seems like the only thing to do is give it a shot and enjoy yourself. Participation in anything is better than sitting around doing nothing and at worse you end up with a few new friends. get down to that club and see what they have to offer. Oh yea….and have fun!Answer by blondebunny
you never know untill you try. most athlets aren’t good by birth or genetics…..they practice. and volleyball is a good sport to get into. I actually play volleyball, basketball, softball, and other sports as well. No I’m not a big athlete. I am no where near ever being as good as some of the other girls that I play with. I kind of suck. but that’s my opinion. If you really want to play then talk to some people in your area and see who all is interested in that type of stuff. talk to them and see if they are able to help you. It doesn’t have to be anything mager for the most part. get a couple of your friends together and just start goofing around while playing some of these things. You never know unless you try…….and to answer your question…..give it some time if you can, play around for a while and see if it’s something that you really want to do and then go from there. Best of luck!
