DeutscheMann7: Shocking response to cancer?
I was listening in on a Christian chatroom and I couldn’t believe how many people came out to say basically cancer is God’s way of punishment since they believe Cancer and HIv are “sin disease” When I asked them about it, they said “cancer is from a person’s life of sin, smoking, drinking, and breast cancer is either from promiscuous women, or women who violates God’s will by getting cosmetic surgery, breast implants (which they claim is caused breast implants)”
I am curious how many agree to these claims, or if I just came across a chatroom with minorities?
To BS herman, just go to Yahoo chat, you have to download messenger, go to christian chatroom #2 or #4. I assure you I made nothing up. I am not trying to smear anyone, if I wanted to do that I would talk about atheism, etc. but because so many in there attacked me because I brought up that even children suffer cancer, their response ranged from silence, being put on ignore, being accused of being an atheist, which I am not, and 2 women insisted that “unfortunately children get got up in their own parent’s web of sin and they pay the price in expiation” and the other added “children are capable of sin too.” I assure you they were not alone. So I just wanted to see if this was a well established belief of just a group who has radical ideas?

You may have been in a religious chat room that claimed to be a Christan chat room but there is nothing Christian about those types of comments.Answer by Texas RN
It’s a shame that such a chatroom can refer to itself as a “Christian” chat room… I am a Christian, a nurse for the past 25 years, and a two-time cancer survivor. I think that such statements need to have the source considered…it saddens me that anyone could be so small minded and unfeeling as to pass such harsh judgment on other human beings. It’s a shameful way for anyone to behave; especially someone who uses Christ (and all that He sacrificed for us) as a cover for their prejudices.
Let’s pray that if these negative individuals ever find themselves in crises, that they receive more love and comfort than they have shown to others.
Answer by WashingKopthi1. god is natural earthy 2. sin is like when a doesn’t make it to b to equal c. Well you can take it as punishment, but that isn’t very natural to think. what happens happens. Like if I was never born with syndactyly (call it a sin if you want) I would have never been in that swimming pool to save that child from drowning with all his clothes on, I would have never saved my friend as I found him along the road walking about 8 miles he would have on a double land high way, I would have never found that charcoal cures a headache, I would have never renovated a stream that was overflowing with ivy leaves.
I don’t know what Christians are referring to, but there are pictures of Christians hitting people that are walking through a shadow or partly their body has a shadow on it from a large rock or tree or whatever. SO yea, that is what Christians do; giving their initiation do you want to talk to them now?
For years my back hurt because my mother deformed herself with cigarettes before I was born, so I had syndactyly and my spine would twist and crunch. The meanest most illiterate people I have ever met are Christians. They slap, hit, ridicule, tease and curse at people that have a problem as a form of initiation. They do this so they have a better outcome, yup that table turns and it backfires on them. That’s the thing they never understand. Believe in yourself – yeah okay, Believe in a scetch drawing and do as the scetch drawing says.. what I don’t get. There is no law, just mochery in Christian reasoning. That’s what they want. They want to stay that way.. so it works.
I guess it’s thier thing, that if you’re not made right, they will starve you, because you are useless is what they would say. They have done this to me. People that eat either harvest, or crop have they will, or hunt. In reality if they do not see the same strength to do that in you, they will make a fool of you and never treat you equally. I mean duh they have bread and wine. After communion, to know. So yeah, that is actually what they do. Some Christians say that I am stupid and in thier business and try to make me actually do it, by making all these body signals that I just ignore, so I call them in question and give them irony that Jesus isn’t a real person and sorry that I cannot relate in any way to them. They knock the weak down, take advantage of the people close to being weak and take over the mutated I guess. They are there to do that because they are like seriously lets see the biggest mutants ever. Filling thier heads up enough to swell with glory of god from dyed paper.
The people they were beating were, yea in the shadow a bit, but the christian was wearing so much more clothing than that person, it must have hurt, from all that waying down.
There are over 200 different types of disease that affect every single age group, all races, both sexes, crosses all socio-economic, all borders, and every single religion . . sorry but the Christian chatroom participants were not accounting for infants with melanoma, toddlers with brain tumors, children with Neuroblastoma, teens with Rhabdomyosarcoma, or young adults with Osteosarcoma . . . sounds like the chatroom was not worth you or anyones time or effort based strictly on their ignorance of the disease.
Ignore them.
Answer by BShermanI don’t believe you. I think that you fabricated this statement as a smear against Christians. I challenge you to prove me wrong by posting a link to your alleged chatroom, so readers here can investigate your allegations for themselves.Answer by david
I’m a Christian, and I think that’s a little out there. There are some extreme belief systems out there where Christianity is concerned, and it sounds like that chatroom is one of them.Answer by midnightmoon
I grew up Christian.
I was taught that bad things are often consequences of our own actions.
One emotional morning in the hospital I asked to talk to a chaplin… my treatment had a high chance of leaving me unable to have children, and it did, but this happened before I knew for sure. I had just watched a tv sermon about sexual sin, and confided that I was afraid cancer was my punishment for some of my sins. He told me that while punishment may not be the right word, it could be the consequences of my sin.
My mom basically told me that god gave me cancer to teach me a lesson about the evils in my life.
I am an athiest now. Those things have less to do with it than other things, but still…
My take on it is this… There is NOTHING I have done that deserves what I went through with cancer. NOTHING.
Answer by poodlemanHere is an easy question for those morons: Why do babies and children get cancer, if your idiotic theories are correct? They don’t lead abnormal lifestyles, even by your definition…. Why do animals get cancers? Last I checked, my dog didn’t smoke or screw around….. Yes, some cancers are more common in those with bad habits (smoking), but many occur with no known cause at all….Answer by LYNN in FL (suspended @#*%)
This just proves that there are idiots every where and also my theory that idiots run in packs. You found my pack of idiots.
