susan n: When reporting a spammer, how many of their posts do you need to report to have the account suspended?
I have read that at least 5 abusive posts need to be reported and would like to know if this is correct.
Also, in the case of reporting an abusive account is it still necessary that more than one person report the abuse or does the 5 reports on one account cause the “bells to go off” regardless the number of those reporting?

Every one has a reliability score based on previous reports. It takes violation reports from at least 2 with a high score or many with lower scores for a question or answer to be removed. Account suspension is up to Yahoo and is based on the frequency and severity of the violations. The is no published limit. One illegal question or answer will get you suspended.

Answer by LaredoI read an answer from one of the top answerer’s on this site and she said that if you report about 5 of the spam answers, the 6th one you report rings bells with Yahoo. They then investigate and the account is suspended. She also remarked that when you are reporting the 6th spam answer, to type in the remarks to check the profile as you think that are all spam answers.Answer by Chetak.
They don’t reveal a number, your 5 reports is just speculation.
All Yahoo say is it takes one or more reports for a Q or A to be deleted.
I believe if you type a message in the comments box on he report page the answers team will read it.
